"Love" at the 33rd FFC

The theme of love in all its facets can be seen in several films at the 33rd FFC. Here is an overview (details and ticket purchase possible by clicking on the film title):

Island (Rudolf Havlik Tschechische Republik, 2023, 100 Min)

Romcom in picturesque setting: a conflicted married couple has to get it together again in order to survive after a plane crash on a deserted island in the Gulf of Thailand. This popular hit, which uses a lot of situational comedy to show the seemingly insurmountable differences between men and women, attracted 300,000 viewers in the Czech Republic.

March '68 (Krzysztof Lang PL, 2022, 120 Min)

A story like Romeo and Juliet set against the backdrop of student riots and public antisemitism in socialist Poland of 1968. Does a young love stand a chance between hate campaign, citizens’ militia and an intrigue of the secret service?

Shreds (Beata Dzianowicz PL, 2022, 98 Min)

A family drama through the seasons. In winter, engineer and university professor Gerard and his son Adam still go hunting together. In spring, the father already has Alzheimer's and increasingly loses his sense of reality. An unsettling etude about the difficult life together when an incurable disease dominates everything else and turns the life of the whole family upside down.
