Cuban Premiere for TRANSIT HAVANA

TRANSIT HAVANA, the new documentary by Daniel Abma, will have it Cuban premiere at the 38th Havana Film Festival in the beginning of December 2016.

The film about the initiative of president Raúl Castros daughter Mariela to offer transgender operations and support LGBT rights in the  Socialist country also talks about the situation of homosexuals and the every-day-life in Cuba. Abma was co-curator of this year’s programme section Focus on Cuban cinema at the FilmFestival Cottbus.

TRANSIT HAVANA has been screened in German cinemas since November 3rd, 2016,  and was also part of the programme of the FilmFestival Cottbus. At the film festival in Havana, the film is premiered at December 12th, 2016, in the section „Los Colores de la Diversidad“ as part of the programme „Latinoamerica en perspectiva“.
