Grenzlandfilmtage Selb

The Grenzlandfilmtage in Selb took place for the 46th time this year.

The focus of the festival is Eastern Europe. Films are also screened in Regensburg and in As in the Czech Republic.

Program director Bernd Buder was a jury member and helped choose the best Eastern European film:
The winner was the Ukrainian short film HUMAN (directed by Khachatur Vasilian) with an existentialist message:a man wakes up naked in a field, finds a mountain of suitcases, in each suitcase is a different flag, a different national costume, a different map. But he doesn't feel comfortable in any of them - because every map, flag and clothing symbolizes a compulsion to belong. Yet all people are supposed to be equal.
