Cottbus meets Sofia

Together with connecting cottbus, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, Filmfestival Cottbus presents itself at the coproduction market "Sofia Meetings" (March 15-18th, 2018). This will take place for the 15th time as part of the 22nd Sofia International Film Festival (SIFF, March 8-29th,2018).

Susann Trzewik, curator of the short film competition and advisor to the programme management of FilmFestival Cottbus, is a guest in Sofia to view the current filmmaking here and to discover contributions for the upcoming 28th Cottbus FilmFestival.

In the co-production market "Sofia Meetings", a total of 30 film projects, primarily from Southeastern Europe, are presented. In addition, the market presents a multifaceted overview of the latest Bulgarian films – some of them are still in post-production. Last year, Ilian Djevelekov presented his film OMNIPRESENT there as a work in progress and convinced the FFC team: The film was selected for the feature film competition of the 27th FilmFestival Cottbus.

The SIFF 2018 also shows OMNIPRESENT and other – in Cottbus well-known feature films: BASICS OF KILLING, SON OF SOFIA, ARRHYTHMIA, MEDA OR THE NOT SO BRIGHT SIDE OF THINGS, LOVELESS and KHIBULA.
