Cottbus in Sofia

Once again FilmFestival Cottbus together with connecting cottbus, Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM) will present an Industry Diner at the 21. Sofia International Film Festival (March 9-31).

In parallel to the most important filmfestival in Bulgaria the film market Sofia meetings takes place fom March 16 to 19. Focussing on (South) Eastern Europe new feature film projects will be presented and the most recent Bulgarian films, which are still in the stage of post-productions, will be shown to International festival scouts.

Clarissa Thieme, Programme Manager and Advisor at connecting Cottbus und Susann Trzewik, Programme coordinator und Curator of the short film competition at Cottbus Film Festival  will join the Sofia Meetings from March 16 to 19.

Among the diverse titles shown at Sofia Film Festival there four films which are very well known to the guests of the last edition of Film Festival Cottbus:  THE LAST FAMILY / OSTATNIA RODZINA by Jan P. Matuszyński  takes part at the International Competition. NIGHTLIFE / NOČNO ŽIVLJENJE by Damjan Kozole and DOGS / CÂINI by Bogdan Mirică will be shown at the Balkan Competition. Last but not least there is IT'S NOT THE TIME OF MY LIFE / ERNELLÁÉK FARKASÉKNÁL by Szabolcs Hajdu which is part of the programme Grand Prizes.
