A wild blend: sometimes things should also get a little weird. In “Midnight Madness” a wealth of fantasy, action and horror film motifs creep onto the screen. The featured stories, often dealing with quite serious issues – loneliness, sexism, famine, drug trafficking, the struggle for freedom – employ striking genre motifs without making light of their subject matter. Highly captivating stories between folk legend and an element of truth, a home for the elderly and a chainsaw, a drug lab and a nationalism gene. Combinations you’d be hard pushed to come up with. And yet we have them here.
