It is only by chance that Oscar gets hold of his parents' letter, which his foster family has kept for him. But neither he nor his foster siblings make any progress in deciphering the mysterious contents. Unceremoniously, Oscar storms a press event at which the actor playing the detective is trying to polish his bad image and asks him for help. Actor Bruno, the man behind the character, is haughty and doesn't like children – his current struggle is purely focused on avoiding being fired from the show due of his unpopularity. As such, the little orphan boy's request for help comes just at the right time - Bruno senses a PR opportunity. And yet he hasn't reckoned with Oscar's charm and ambition, a combination that drives them forward in spite of the boy’s watchful foster parents and urgent film deadlines. During the shared treasure hunt which, amongst other things, takes the two of them to the top of a tower and to the zoo at night, they ultimately become true friends. Little by little they get to the bottom of the mystery whilst Oscar's foster siblings distract his foster parents for as long as they can... will they be able to solve the mystery in time?

Mariusz Palej - director and cinematographer. He has been successfully making films for children and family audiences for several years. BEHIND THE BLUE DOOR, his directorial debut, turned out to be an box office and artistic success - the film was screened at dozens of national and international festivals, winning awards for best debut and best film..
Magda and Mariusz co-directed both parts of Oskar and Bruno's adventures - DETECTIVE BRUNO - which received Złote Lwiątka im. Janusza Korczaka Award for the best children film at Polish Film Festival 2022 and BALTIC GOLD - currently in post-production.
