Trailer
At the height of the Cold War, two geniuses and two world views collide in the hospital of the Curie Institute in Paris. Former resistance fighter and professor Mathé, just like the French secret service, has doubts that the accident in Yugoslavia was a reactor experiment. He is confronted by the doomed Dr. Popović, under whose supervision the tests were carried out and, as a result of which, he and three young scientists were exposed to a lethal dose of uranium. He doubts Mathé's intentions and accuses him of having agreed to the treatment only for the purposes of furthering his research. In order to preserve their last chance of a cure, they have no choice but to put aside their reservations and trust in the courage of potential bone marrow donors. In this film about human chain reactions, about a milestone in medical history and about a unique example of humanity, Alexis Manenti and Radivoje Bukvić shine with rigourously compact and emotionally energetic performances in embodying the two real-life persons. Dragan Bjelogrlić's period film is an adaptation of a book by Goran Milašinović, which sheds light on a largely unknown chapter of Cold War history that was long kept secret.
