After graduating from school, Míra goes to see his father, the owner of a large agricultural business. He would like to see the neighbours’ daughter Žofka again, her unconventional parents are enemies of Míra's father however. The latest film by Bohdan Sláma, familiar to German audiences from works such as DER DORFLEHRER (The Country Teacher) or WILDE BIENEN (Wild Bees), again takes us to the countryside. This time to the idyllic Moravian Tuscany, a region plagued by drought in these times of climate change. Neighbours Josef and Viktor live opposing lifestyles that bring them into conflict with one another: one leads an alternative existence in harmony with nature, the other sprays plant toxins and works the land in the way he learned from his father. Viktor's son Míra and Josef's daughter Žofka, who fall in love, take issue with the way their fathers and grandfathers live and rebel.

Sláma's previous films also speak of his strong emotional connection to country life. Here he combines current issues such as nature conservation, climate change and the urban-rural divide with a modern family drama in which the views of several generations and different world views clash.
