Mining has shaped Lusatia, both in the form of active open-cast mines and with its influence on the resulting landscape. These films depict the dimensions of this encroachment for both man and nature, providing insight that ranges from the open wound incurred by nature to the supposed healing of a wounded landscape.

Frauke Berg, Oliver Gather - Oliver Gather lebt und arbeitet in DüsseldorfEr studierte Bildhauerei an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (1985-91) und hat seither zahlreiche installative, performative und filmische Projekte in urbanem und ländlichem Raum realisiert.www.olivergather.de
Frauke Berg lebt in Düsseldorf und ist bildendende Künstlerin und experimentelle Musikerin. Zeichnungen, Radioarbeiten, digitale Animationen, Installationen und Performances sind in unterschiedlichen Kooperationen und Kontexten entstanden. Ihr Hauptinteresse gilt dabei der Arbeit In-Situ und der Kommunikation mittels Klang.
