Performance
Shot in 2005, the film looks back together with residents and architects. When, 50 years ago, the GDR laid the foundation stone for the new town of Hoyerswerda, several housing estates were built for the workers of the Schwarze Pumpe coal processing plant - life was vibrant. Those days are over. Now the prefabricated buildings are being torn down and the young people are moving away.
Part of KLEINE WERKSCHAU – DIRK LIENIG
Returnee Dirk Lienig, who grew up in Hoyerswerda, became a filmmaker after ending his career as a dancer. He returned after spending time in Australia and South America. With dance projects and as a film teacher, he breathes new life into the cultural life of his former home-town.
