When his brother collapses, the doctors shrug and say that it would have been better not to come to this hospital. His brother dies, and Costas now has to take care not only of his little daughter, but also of the debts he left behind. He gets involved in shady dealings, accuses doctors of malpractice they aren’t guilty of, and finds himself faced with a moral dilemma when a doctor who is also the victim of false accusations turns to him for help. Penny Panayiotopoulou's social drama captures chilling urban landscapes and claustrophobic interiors with cinematic sophistication - living spaces full of social fault lines in which the protagonist loses control of himself and is only able, with no small effort, to maintain his belief in the good in people. A documentary-like parable that describes where a society drifts to when the basic infrastructure crumbles and everyone takes responsibility for only one thing: themselves.
