Seven years ago, documentary director and journalist Apolena Rychlíková teamed up with Saša Uhlová to explore the working conditions in the worst-paid jobs in the Czech Republic, resulting in the documentary THE LIMITS OF WORK. In their latest collaboration, THE LIMITS OF EUROPE, they move abroad. Uhlová leaves the Czech Republic and heads west—working on a farm in Germany, in a hotel in Ireland, and for an agency that provides caregivers for the elderly in France. The report Uhlová and Rychlíková present to the audience sheds light on the lives and working conditions of those rarely in the spotlight, and it is far from flattering. Endless working hours, physical exhaustion, and constant stress... This powerful documentary raises important questions: What is the true cost of Western prosperity, and who is paying for it?
