Schmitke is a German wind turbine engineer who you might say is a little past his best. Due to technical difficulties with one of his older models he, together with a younger colleague, is sent on a kind of punishment mission to the Bohemian mountains in order to fix the creaking turbine. On first encountering a Czech, Schmitke notices that they're somehow different. And then his colleague Thomas disappears... Director Štěpán Altrichter spent his youth in both the Czech Republic and Germany and is thus more than familiar with both cultures. His début feature film is brought to life by a subtle sense of humour and appreciation for the bizarre.
