Trailer
Karolina is a star: skinny, sexy and unsurpassably cool, she changes her hair colour more often than others change their T-shirts. Aged twenty-seven and already a celebrated author, she came to fame with a book entitled "Doll", a world-wide success in places as far afield as Taiwan, where in a TV interview she is asked how her erotic fantasies were received back in devoutly Catholic Poland. "I love your ice cream" she responds, as she strikes a pose and pouts her lips like a web 2.0 version of Marilyn Monroe. Photo shoot. Club rave. Sex. Without a break.
This larger-than-life protagonist is played by Magdalena Berus, who also featured in Kasia Rosłaniec’s BABY BLUES (2012); then as a teenage mother with fashion issues, here she features in 54 short sequences, her life akin to a fragmented kaleidoscope image, the superficiality of which provides her with few opportunities for contemplation. There are moments however when Karolina appears to realise that her attempts at self-promotion are leading her to self-destruction. BW
