Mai Anh crosses the "green border" and enters Poland. Her illegal border crossing into the Schengen Area comes at a cost however, as she is repeatedly abused and humiliated by her smugglers. Having searched in vain for her fiancé at the Vietnamese market in Warsaw, she ultimately finds him with the migration police, who are holding him in custody. Here Mai Anh is faced with a fateful decision: either admit to her true identity and be deported, or fight for survival. A moving parable on the necessity of self-deception. BB
