Montenegro

Andjela and Jana respond to a small ad from two Czechs on the look for intrepid female companions for a planned off-road tour (and presumably also for lonely nights). It soon becomes seemingly apparent who is destined for whom, and yet matters take an unexpected turn, much to the detriment of the atmosphere within the group. This however proves to be but the first test of endurance for the four, all of which Andjela records and reflects upon in her diary.

Petr Kubik’s directing debut is a genuinely international project, with the eighteen-member film team alone accounting for nine different countries. Together they travelled for three weeks across Montenegro, served by a previously completed script which they nevertheless enhanced with spontaneous improvisation in order to authentically capture the journey.
