This short film is shaped by its tempo, shot in a single take. Needlessly to say an arduous undertaking for the main actress as well as the rest of the cast, and yet they excel. Main actress Magdalena Berus, also featured as a free-spirited party girl in SATAN SAID DANCE in the SPECTRUM programme, takes us on an emotion-filled tour de force, convincing as she does with a feisty performance. The viewer accompanies the despairing yet spirited mother, all the while intrigued as to how she will resolve her financial problems. In the process the camera draws us in, with the blue-toned images reflective of the social cold-heartedness the protagonist fights against. The last stage of her undertaking sees the young mother travel to an exclusive residential area where she provides a woman from the suburbs with a surprising service. It turns out there's a fine line between a cold and a warm heart, with extreme situations sometimes leading us to support a stranger in need. JG
