Rap and hip hop are important parts of our global culture. That they can overcome barriers is demonstrated by this documentary that explores the Czech rap scene and the relations between the artists involved and wider society. Three leading figures of the Czech scene, Orion, Hugo Toxxx and James Cole are accompanied not only on stage but also behind the scenes.
The rappers encounter different persons in the course of the film: an eloquent professor of linguistics, children from a Roma ghetto in Karviná, an overly correct registrar, as well as primary school children from the southern districts of Prague. In addition they talk to the "saviour" of the Czech language Josef Jungmann and the singer Hana Hegerová. The discussions develop spontaneously and are filmed live. Despite all of their differences the protagonists manage to find a common language. The film is accompanied by ten live recordings of a concert from the Prague Roxy Club.
The first feature film portrait of the Czech hip hop scene.
