THE BRIDGE
It's spring-time and the ice is melting in the Kirgiz mountains. Like every year grandpa will now repair the old bridge that leads, over the river, to the road to the next city. The ice is chipped away and the winter damages corrected with new planks, so that the river can once again be crossed safely. Shortly afterwards however workers come and remove the old bridge. A new suspension bridge now connects the two river banks: the new replaces the old.
An almost meditative portrayal of changing times and the coexistence of traditional and modern ways of life, as well as the succession of the former by the latter.

Tynai Ibragimov - born 1952 in Kyrgyzstan. Has since 1971 worked as a cameraman, director and producer in the film industry. Has written scripts for numerous documentaries and short films and, in the role of cameraman, shot several feature films.
