Alicja is fourteen, new at school and, before she knows what's happening, the laughing stock of the playground. In fact she's worse than that, she's a nothing. The wrong clothes, the wrong mobile phone, and that was that! For half a year now Alicja has lived with her family in the city and still no one takes an interest in her. Milena, Kaja and Julia on the other hand, the dynamic trio of the class, seem to have sussed how a woman should approach life: get tarted up after school and make your way to the shops to try on clothes, talk to guys and, with a little luck, be invited by a "sponsor" for an ice cream or a sit in his car. Then grab a few drinks in the evening and party the night away at "Paradiso"...
Alicja has a lot to learn, according to Milena, from alcohol to men. When Julia becomes pregnant the "newcomer" takes her place. If a woman wants to be successful she can't be prudish however: a new mobile and new clothes don't pay for themselves, Milena knows that from her own experience. Thus she arranges everything so that Alicja might forget her childish romance with Michal, the boy from the neighbouring class, as soon as possible. As it turns out a sponsor isn't hard to find. He takes Alicja home whilst Milena, "by sheer chance", tells Michal the news. When he finally has the chance to be alone with Alicja again, he completely loses his composure and the next day the whole school knows of his troubles. Dramatic consequences follow and Alicja has to make a decision...
