The Ukrainian Kita, played by Maria de Medeiros (PULP FICTION, 1994), wants to pay a visit to her Senegalese-born, Lisbon-based husband Gregori Itaka on the night of New Year’s Eve 1997. Travelling without a visa, Kita ends up stranded at Faro Airport where she falls into the clutches of the immigration authorities and is sent back to Kiev.
The record of a procedure, in the course of which a foreigner becomes an illegal alien, based on the experiences of a doctor couple from the Donetsk region, who entered Portugal at the end of the nineties.
