THE HUNTER

Ivan gets up early, feeds the piglets, checks the account movements, tends his tractor and cuts up meat, which he then sells at the market. He has a wife, a daughter and a disabled son with only one arm and for whose treatment money needs to be earned.

Almost all films from the Russian “New Wave” are based on exalted emotions, grotesque situations and somewhat caricaturesque images of human beings, many of which are metaphors, a diagnosis of social conditions. Like the director’s previous film, this movie features a completely different substructure, that is, an intellectual and philosophical basic concept.
