Aleks spends the summer holidays together with fellow teenagers at a Boy Scout camp. There the youths encounter a leader who takes things somewhat too seriously: exercises in discipline instead of computer games, sporting competitions instead of snacks, early morning drills instead of late night parties with girls from the adjacent camping site. The atmosphere deteriorates just as quickly as the authority of the camp leader, who in order to stem the tide conceives of a special task: a group of youths is despatched further into the countryside, where they are to spend the night outdoors. The group of three loses its way by a mountain peak however, and this on the evening before the parents are due to arrive. Combining a social study with situation comedy the director, who with his feature film NA PLANINCAH (2004, Cottbus 2007) had previously given evidence of his talent for working with child and youth actors, documents the everyday life of a Scout camp from a youth perspective. Unpretentious and in conscious eschewal of drama and exaggerated declarations, he constructs a coming of age microcosm from minor escapades, a search for adventure and first love to a backdrop of the fascinating Alpine landscapes of Triglav National Park. A family film based upon detailed observations on group psychology and, when things get overly serious, ironic departures therefrom: conventionally staged yet cutting edge. A combination that is sure to appeal to all age groups; in Slovenia the film has emerged as the most successful domestic film since 1990.
