As in its American prototype the director takes a pseudo-documentary approach, shooting in the found footage format: American filmmakers arrive in the Ukraine in order to start work on a film on the Holodomor of 1933, during which widespread cannibalism was documented. It is at this point that the story of Andrei Chikatilo, a notorious serial killer and cannibal who was executed for his crimes in 1994, comes into play. The film crew finds the house which is said to be haunted by Chikatilo's spirit, and during a night séance inadvertently summon his spirit... CF

Petr Jákl - born in Prague, Czechoslavakia. He is a former professional judoka and actor, among others xXx (2002) and Alien vs. Predator (2004). His debut feature film KAJÍNEK (2010) was a box office hit in Czech Republic. GHOUL is his second feature film. In addition he is scriptwriter and producer.
