A wonderfully-captured, cautious coming-together of these two seemingly incompatible girls, who encounter one another time again at a local swimming bath. Chance glances, furtive gestures, an old-fashioned love letter, the attraction between the two evolves almost in a dream-like state. The narrative develops its very own force of attraction, as the outside world initially falls out of focus only to strike back with a vengeance, as one of the girls comes from a commuter town, the other from an upper-class family that resides in an elegant residential development. The two are divided by more than religious background and social hierarchy however, since the sense of desire that develops between them appears to be dictated by projected desires for the exotic, as opposed to any genuine yearning for companionship.
