Wołanie

THE Calling

Marcin Dudziak
Poland, France, 2014, 78 Min

A father and son travel downstream in a rubber dinghy to the backdrop of an isolated landscape on the floodplains of the Carpathians, where the wilderness and its cacophony of sound remains a constant companion.

À Son Image

Taciturn Jósef allows his son space to explore; Antek wanders around, discovering snakes amongst the derelict houses. The deeper he immerses himself, the stronger his curiosity and desire for new experiences grows. At night he can't relax; Is that a beckoning call he can hear? Time passes slowly, until interrupted by three simpletons. Josef patiently tolerates the newcomers, whilst Antek remains calm, as if he'd been waiting for this moment. JG
