The brutality of his regime has provoked a bloody revolution on the streets, as a consequence of which the dictator is forced to flee his well-protected presidential palace. Mohsen Makhmalbāf - born 1957 in Tehran, Iran. His films have been widely presented and awarded at international festivals. In 1996, he founded the production company Makhmalbaf Film House. Besides being a filmmaker, he also is a novelist, screenwriter, editor, producer, and human rights activist.
