More than a hundred Chechen Sufis move to the intoxicating rhythm of music and spirituality. The Dhikr, the stirring ritual ceremony of Sufi Islam, provides family man Midaev Abubakar with the sense of rapture he needs to temporarily forget past and present. Hypnotic images of dance, followed by black frames and voice-over from the film's protagonist. Making use of long, meditative shots Argentinian director Martín Solá offers fascinating insight into Chechen culture and traditions. WMH
