In 1968 Victor Sosnora wrote the parable “From Derzhavin to Derzhavin”, dedicated to one of 18th century Russia's leading poets, whom the author considered a classicist, metaphysician and also a futurist, despite his having served as an officer of the state. A cinematic attempt at fusing the genres of biographical film and city portrait. BW
