The provincial construction worker comes to Baku in order to make money. He dreams of becoming a crane operator one day but he suffers from vertigo. One day at work he is confronted with his deepest fear.

Five students of film directing, five genres and five episodes from Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, seen from a variety of perspectives; the balcony, a building crane, from a car window, as well as both below and above the ground.

This anthology of works created by up-and-coming directors, all of whom were educated at foreign film schools, offers insight into a city otherwise widely associated with nothing more than petroleum and the Eurovision Song Contest; here we observe a courtyard love affair in bloom (QONŞU QADIN/LADY NEXT DOOR), a basement rock venue (KƏDƏRIM/MY GRIEF IS LIGHT), how lives are saved on a building site (YUXARIDA VƏ AŞAĞIDA/ABOVE AND BELOW), a search for the Baku of old which results in the discovery of the new (DMITROV KÜÇƏSI 86/DMITROV ST 86) and a clash of the secret service with the drug Mafia (ZABIT ŞƏRƏFI/CODE OF HONOUR).
