Manieggs - Revenge of the Hard Egg

Manieggs - Revenge of the Hard Egg

Zoltán Miklósy
Hungary, 2014, 90 Min

Hard-hitting action, ruthless gangsters, corrupt policemen, all with a rough-around-the-edges choice of words to fit. And if that weren't enough this Hungarian genre parody takes the form of an animated film with Lego-like characters.

Reel Suspects

Johnny Cupido is released from prison, whereupon he is collected by his friend Harry; together they set off in search of the traitor who grassed Johnny up. At the same time they're being trailed themselves however, by Corambo (a hard-as-nails cross between Columbo and Rambo), of whom it is said that those he interrogates never rise again. This irreverent animated comedy with a taste for gunfights and action was given an 18 certificate in Viktor Orbán's Hungary. JT
