The state of war drives its participants to desperation; it is thus that even a simple teacher can find himself transformed into a tormentor who plays his victims off against one another. In the struggle for survival no one remains innocent. The psychological thriller CAPTUM spins a web of compassion and horror that keeps the viewer on tenterhooks: who's next, and is there any escape? A parable on the degradation of man during times of war. JG
