1357. Asia and a considerable part of Europe find themselves under the Mongol Yoke, whilst the rest of Europe lives in constant fear of further incursions. In the same year St. Alexius, Metropolitan of Moscow, known for his ability to perform miracles, is called to the court of the Great Khan in order to cure the latter's from blindness. The fate of the Christian world depends on the success of the Orthodox cleric. A monumental work produced and financed by the Russian Orthodox Church's “Orthodox Encyclopedia”, which narrates a heroic tale with epic imagery and a large slice of pathos.
