His religion was football, the ritualistic expression violence in the stadium and on the streets. That was until Pawel, at the age of 22, learned that his family is in fact of Jewish extraction. Thus a hooligan became an Orthodox Jew: “Suddenly you realise, that you're the one you've always hated”. This documentary film offers insight not only into an unusual biography, but also contemporary Jewish life in Poland: from hostile glances on the street to an argument over the length of daughter Ola's skirt. And: “when the Sabbath is over the first thing I'm going to do is check the Legia score”.
