When Jony, an artist of Muslim origin, returns to his native village in southern Albania, he falls in love with Vera, a Christian. The local muezzin has a perfect view into Jony's attic from his minaret; what he sees there, though immoral from a religious perspective, awakens a feeling of curiosity. The village Christian community also keeps an attentive eye on the liaison. The fragile equilibrium between these to-date peacefully co-existent communities is exposed to a test of character. Also known by the name PRAYER OF LOVE, this comedy critically questions the precarious balance between human emotions and official (double-) moral standards.
