Beyond the Hills
Back then, in the orphanage, the two girls Alina and Voichita pledged eternal love to each other. On Alina's return as a young woman from Germany however she learns that Voichita has resolved to dedicate her life to God and the seclusion of a convent. Alina's arrival proves cause for discontent in the convent, as the combined influence of the stringent rules of the community and the lesbian affections of the two women generate a fateful relationship of tension to which the newcomer, harassed as a tool of the devil, falls victim. A haunting drama about love, conformance and marginalisation.
