The early nineties in the Croatian city of Vukovar, close to the border with Serbia. The inhabitants are expelled by Serbian paramilitary forces; a discarded train abandoned at a railway station serves as temporary accommodation. The hope of one day returning to Vukovar remains the only consolation, yet the siege continues and tensions arise among the displaced as a result. Created during the armed hostilities between Serbs and Croats and shaped by the shock at the Serbian invasion in then multicultural Vukovar, the film preaches perseverance and the will to win. A document of contemporary history.
