Kazio's father wants his son to become a footballer, just like Kazimierz Deyna, his idol from the seventies. When the falls of communism puts a spanner in the works, the father comes up with an ingenious business idea: white socks! No normal socks however, but an aphrodisiac variant that will, without fail, transform the wearer into a heart-throb. At the local market the socks prove to be much sought-after and Kazio's father makes a decent profit. His dreams of football stardom for his son turn to dust however; instead Kazio has his heart set on genuine love. A humorous and original tale of growing-up during the fall of communism and a self-identity, which has to be defended against parental expectations.
