In what has evolved into a festival tradition over the years, the festival trailer is produced by a team of students from the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. This year's director is Natalia Sinelnikova, with the end result drawing a conceptual link with the Focus programme section, this time around dedicated to communist Cuba, in turn marking the commencement of a cycle dedicated to the ways in which filmmakers from both previous and current Socialist states beyond Europe's borders reflect on the everyday challenges and political culture of their homelands.
