A group of adolescents claims an abandoned swimming stadium and proceeds to turn it into an adventure playground. Here they can let off steam, satisfy the naturally high levels of curiosity they all share and break what is already broken. It's perfectly possible that their parents once swam here, these children belong to a generation that knows a different reality however.

Youngsters always find a way, for example through a hole in a fence. In the deserted swimming pool, they can run riot; structures in a state of disrepair have always exerted an attraction on children after all. This is the Karl-Friedrich Friesen Stadium in Berlin's Volkspark Friedrichshain. Constructed in 1951, it was officially opened that same year to mark opening of the World Festival of Youth and Students. Afterwards, into the late eighties, it served as a competition venue and public swimming pool, before being closed in 1989 and demolished in early 1999. KF
