Hristo Simeonov
Bulgaria, 2015, 29 Min

A youngster lives together with his parents in an old trailer in the Bulgarian hinterlands, where he has to compensate for his father's absence when the latter heads to the city to scrape together a living. The boy's only companion is a stray dog that he should really be chasing away.

Trivium Films

A ramshackle trailer stands in a grassland plain, with nothing but railway lines and a handful of houses by way of a view. A family of five devour a simple breakfast, after which the father jumps on the train and clings to the last carriage. The evening meal consists of whatever he can claw together in the course of the day. Whilst the head of the family is in the city, responsibility for domestic affairs passes on to the eldest son, himself still a child. The father encourages and teaches him everything a man should be able to do. He should be chasing the dog away too, when it fact it's the only friend he has. And then comes the fateful day when his father doesn't return. KF
