The Noisemaker
A provincial school awaits a delegation. They are to be presented with a new bell, but who needs that when there are greater needs to meet; For example, insufficient student numbers. The school is currently marginally under the prescribed minimum quota and thus, to avoid a closure, the head teacher rolls his sleeves up and scares his subordinates into action. The important thing is to avert suspicions, and thus the empty classrooms are to portray the impression of everyday classroom hustle and bustle. An amusing tale which comes with a contemporary note of caution given Lithuania's rapidly ageing population.

Karolis Kaupinis - – born 1987 in Vilnius. Gradutated from the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University. He's been working as a journalist in Lithuanian National Television. TRIUKŠMADARYS / THE NOISEMAKER won the European Short Pitch award in 2013. It‘s his first short fiction film.
