Driver Otto draws cartoons in his spare time. When, one day, a break-down leads him to a rural archaeological excavation he wanders around listlessly, throwing curious glances and asking the occasional question. His eyes are opened to a hitherto unknown world of two-thousand-year-old skeletons and other relicts from another world; Unable to remain indifferent to this new discovery, he rolls up his sleeves, takes up a shovel and indeed himself stumbles across an antique figure he'd quite like to take home. This documentary-like film narrates a memorable moment from the life of a young man.

György Mór Kárpáti - – born 1984 in Budapest. Studied at the Directors’ Department of the University of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest and was selected for several international workshops such as Berlinale Talent Campus, Sarajevo Talent Campus and Locarno Summer Academy. PROVINCIA is his thesis film.
