Trailer
Although it numbers amongst the four national languages of Switzerland, the prevalence and use of Romansch is falling rapidly. This film is no of the causes thereof however, instead taking a poetic look at the significance of language in shaping individual identity. In doing so language and landscape are interwoven in the shape of Romansch' characteristic intonation and the region's craggy peaks and peaceful valleys. Akin to the way in which the locals live in unison with the nature that surrounds them and the changing of the seasons, Romansch would also appear to belong to a natural state of affairs.
Though providing an intimate snapshot, RESUNS nevertheless makes us painfully aware of the irreplaceable lost represented by the potential loss of this, and in fact any little-spoken language. GL
