Vintage cars are an integral element of the way Cuba is portrayed to the outside world, though these tend to be American models from the pre-revolutionary era. In comparison filmmakers are rarely drawn to the box-shaped Polski Fiat, widely seen as a symbol of the time when economic cooperation amongst communist states was the island's lifeblood.

Shot during director Rubén Rojas Cuauhtemoc's student days at the San Antonio de los Baños International Film School, this short film pays homage to the plain yet loyal companion of numerous Cubans during socialism's heyday. Nostalgia also plays a role in Yoemil's desire to repair the car, spare parts are hard to come by however and there are certain relicts from times gone by that simply can't be revived. WMH
