It is in this exact period of metamorphosis from caterpillar to butterfly that eleven-year-old Mickey finds himself. He's not a child any longer, but otherwise remains unsure of his identity; the girls are certainly starting to exert a certain attraction, he can't stand the transformation his body is going through however. In fact the only aspect of his new life that might be termed “normal” is the fact that Mickey is able to supplement his pocket money with earnings from his “clean” urine samples, a valuable commodity now that the school headmistress has declared her very own war on drugs.
