Kinga, known as Ki, lives together with her boyfriend Anto and two-year-old son Pio in a small rented flat in Warsaw. Whilst Anto is forever promising to find a job, Ki at least regularly earns a few Złoty by working as a nude model at the local academy of arts; together with the regular partying with her friends the only calming influence in an otherwise chaotic life. When Anto’s untrustworthiness becomes unbearable, Ki collects her son and possessions and moves in with her friend Dorota. The feminist journalist lives together with Mikołaj, her introverted amateur mountaineer boyfriend, in a shared flat. Come the end of the month, when the rent and electricity are due, Ki is once again broke, and even worse: the social services department threaten her with therapy and the youth welfare office. Thus she convinces Mikołaj to act the honest fiancé and foster father of Pio during a regular inspection. Shortly afterwards however everything returns to running its usual course. When Ki, in the process of shooting a video intended to illustrate the root causes of her misery, almost torches the flat kitchen, Dorota leaves her the field clear and moves out. One evening, whilst Mikołaj is watching a film about Palestine, Ki asks about the meaning of the world “Hisbollah”: “That is”, he responds, “when a girl leaves nothing but problems in her wake”. Shortly after returning from his latest climbing expedition, he follows Dorota’s lead, abandoning Ki and Pio to an uncertain future.
