Raiymbek Alzhanov - was born in 1994 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In 2017, he graduated from the Kazakh National Academy of Arts with a degree in directing, and in 2019 he interned at NYFA in Los Angeles. In his debut "Mergen", the director tries his hand at the genre of folklore fantasy with a view to one of the most difficult periods in Kazakhstan's history.
