Jonas Trukanas' genre film was successfully sold to a streaming service in the USA, which is programmed by the online portal 'Bloody Disgusting', which specializes in horror and slasher films. Its founder Brad Miska also explains why he appreciates the Lithuanian film so much: "PENSIVE is a dark throwback to the 80s and the boom of slasher cinema. Based on FRIDAY THE 13TH [Shaun S. Cummmingham's American horror film classic, editor's note], the filmmakers took what was great about this era and refreshed it with Eastern European folklore."
